your questions about reflexology...

What are the benefits of holistic treatments?

Holistic treatments can complement conventional medicine and may offer the following benefits to name just a few:

Reduces nervous tension and stress related illnesses
Gives the recipient a feeling of well-being and deep relaxation
Stimulates the body to heal itself
Strengthens the immune system
Encourages elimination of toxins
Improves blood and lymphatic circulation
Stimulates the respiratory, digestive and endocrine system
Helps with pain relief and improves mobility
Boosts energy, concentration levels and memory

The number of treatments depends on you as the individual and the severity of your condition/s presented, which can be discussed on your first visit. Some people with acute illness may only need one appointment whilst those with chronic or long-term illness may need more. However, the majority of my clients choose to come on a monthly basis once their health has improved, as they enjoy the whole experience and have quality time for themselves!

What happens during a reflexology treatment?

During a reflexology treatment, I ask you to remove only footwear plus socks or tights. After a time to talk about your treatment you can relax back into my reflexology recliner chair. I start with cleansing  the feet followed by relaxing massage. We then go through the healing treatment and finish with another period of massage.  During this time relaxing music can be played as you enjoy your time to breathe.

How will I feel after a treatment?

Most people feel deep relaxation, tiredness or energised, warm or cold and with a general feel good factor. You may experience slight and temporary deterioration of your illness for a day or two after the first visits; this is referred to as the healing reaction and is no cause of concern. Headaches, tiredness and frequent visits to the toilet may be experienced. Remember this is only temporary before your well-being improves.  The majority of clients feel wonderfully relaxed and calm after reflexology.

What do I need to do after a treatment?

Allow yourself time to get the full benefits by relaxing. and finding more time to breathe!
My advice is to drink plenty of water over the next 24 hours. Water aids in removing any toxins from the body and helps prevent headaches. Avoid alcohol, caffeine based products and strenuous exercise as these are all stimulants.

How long does the treatment take?

Please allow 1 hour and 30 mins for the initial appointment which includes a consultation period. Subsequent treatments take about one hour.

After a deep relaxing treatment, the last thing you want to do is feel rushed to leave before it is safe for you to drive home. I therefore allow enough time to talk before and after the treatment and time for you to come around.

However, treatments times can be reduced if the client requires, for example, due to time restrictions or health reasons.

How often will I need a treatment?

Everybody and every condition are unique. Normally 4-6 weekly visits are recommended to start with, as this increases the bodies healing responses. Once wellbeing has improved, frequency of visits can be reduced. However, the majority of my clients enjoy their treatments so much they have opted for a monthly maintenance program.

How much will the treatment cost?

Prices vary depending on the package of treatment most suitable to your needs. Please contact me for prices.  breathetime@googlemail.com  or call:07531121199.
