Kidderminster Shuttle Promote charity day.

It was great to see the Kidderminster Shuttle supporting our charity reflexology day with this positive article.

" Charity day will be ideal therapy

A KIDDERMINSTER woman who carried the Olympic torch through the town will be using her reflexology skills to help prevent sudden cardiac arrest deaths in youngsters.

Refloxologist Joanne Carthew, of Breathe Holistic Therapy, will be giving foot massages for a donation during a charity day on Saturday.

She is raising cash for Hand on Heart – a charity that gives funding for defibrillator packages, including a defibrillator and CPR training,to secondary schools.

The treatment day will take place at Ms Carthew’s treatment room in Trimpley Drive.

She said: “Twelve young people  die due to a sudden cardiac arrest every week in the UK.

“As a mother, I want schools equipped with defibrillators so I can be sure all children have the best possible chance of survival.”

Ms Carthew has been working with Sainsbury’s in Kidderminster during its charity partnership with Hand on Heart since July, 2012. Previous events included a photo opportunity with the Olympic torch, which raised £182, and a massage and reflexology day for store staff.

Ms Carthew was nominated to carry the Olympic torch through her home town for her charity work and being part of the community. She works at Mary Stevens Hospice, in Stourbridge, and is also part of the fund-raising committee for St Catherine’s Primary School in Kidderminster."
